Even with my very recently installed system, any excess electricity generated over the course of a year is basically just given to PG&E for them to profit from. This basically encourages people to size the system based only on their usage, and also de-incentivizes further reductions in electricity use. But new laws may change this where PG&E will actually PAY YOU for excess generated electricity.

http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5hNrxNoE5QUed-KsxnHx7ZiOhCgWwD9BJE1V81

Huston Residence

A nice little bright spot in an otherwise dreary building climate right now. 1200 sq.ft. A big shout out to the gang and Solarponics, very professional every step of the way, including financing and all the paperwork with PG&E, permits, everything. I can even check in on how the system is performing from anywhere with my iPhone. Amazing.

There's never been a better time to do this with the combination of the California and Federal governments essentially paying for half the system outright, and financing the rest of it will cost half of what I have been paying for electricity every month for the last year. Even going full term on the financing still leaves 10 years of warranteed life on the system and free electricity. Projected savings over the 25 year warranteed life of the panels is over $180,000. Really a no-brainer.

Can't Take Yourself Too Seriously

All Hail Modern Architecture

Architects Rated 4th Happiest!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 222px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_7lo4GzC0oUc/SRiiWQPjqiI/AAAAAAAAAB4/aTLgWJhaxww/s320/Happy-Frank-Lloyd-Wright.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5267138267410836002" />
Who-da thunk it?
